Andy Michel was born in Belgium, grew up in Montreal and is of Congolese origin (DRC). He took his first dance training in one of the first urban dance studios in Montreal: Urban Element. His mentors; Angelo Ameur and Cindy Mc Auliffe, these two pioneers of urban dance in the city, are the ones who helped him push his limits. In 2009, he and his troupe represented Canada at the World Hip-Hop Championship. He trained in Latin dances at the Caroline Paré dance studio and at the Montreal Conservatory for Ballet-Jazz. His potential brought him on tour for several months in Asia. His thirst for dance allowed him to travel to Los Angeles where he had the opportunity to train in the most recognized studios in the world. He was one of the first Canadian dancers to have danced on the American show: 106 & Park on the BET Television Channel. He obtains the role of assistant choreographer and dancer within the framework of “Canada Day 2015” in Ottawa. His vision and reputation have allowed him to teach across Canada, Europe, the United States, Asia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal. A graduate of the School of Show Business, he launched his own clothing brand and now offers training to advanced and professional dancers in the urban environment at Montreal The Program since 2015. He opened the doors of his dance studio DTJIC in 2019: Dancer , The Job I Thing in Montreal.
